Aspen Icarus is a process-industry cost estimation tool used to develop conceptual through detailed capital and operating cost estimates for chemical, oil and gas, and related facilities. Based on the ICARUS methodology, it transforms early design inputs—such as flowsheets, equipment duties, and materials—into equipment sizes, bulk quantities, and installed costs. The software leverages configurable cost databases, regional factors, currencies, escalation, and labor productivity to generate consistent, auditable estimates and what‑if scenarios. It is commonly used during feasibility, FEL/FEED, and detailed design, and can exchange data with Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS to streamline handoffs from simulation to estimating. Its capabilities are carried forward in the successor product, Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE).
Aspen Icarus is developed by AspenTech and is used by 2 users of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 16.0. The names of program executable files are APOWn200.exe, Aspen Capital Cost Estimator.exe, ipe.exe, IPM.exe and Kbase.exe.
